Powin unveils smilight tubes

Electronics manufacturer Powin has launched an energy saving bulbs campaign to get its customers using T5 smilight tubes

The US-based company has launched a new low energy bulbs programme through its subsidiary Powin Energy, offering new products including T5 and T8 smilight tubes.

"Our new products can save up to 50 per cent of the energy costs compared to traditional HID [high-intensity discharge] lighting, [and] can provide more efficient and superior quality lighting, longer lamp life, and the contents are recyclable," explained the company's vice president of operations Michael Morse.

The company is a manufacturer and distributor of wind, solar, battery, LED and fluorescent lighting products as well as being a provider of custom parts for renewable energy and efficient lighting companies.

Powin recently opened its new 71,000 square-foot headquarters in Oregon for the company's management and also as the base of operations for its affiliates, such as Power Energy and Maco Furniture, among others.
