A Ford factory in the US expects to save $40,000 (£24,800) each year in energy bills after fitting new fluorescent tubes.
Rose City Ford revolutionised the lighting at its site by replacing all of its units with more energy efficient bulbs, reports the Windsor Star.
Chief executive officer of the establishment John Chisholm revealed that the investment in fluorescent tubes and similar energy saving bulbs had already been recouped within one year.
"The savings are just absolutely amazing. When it was first explained to me, I thought it was a little snake oil sales, but I'm seeing it in our electric bills," he asserted.
However, the benefits are not only financial, as Mr Chisholm revealed that the factory is "much brighter" than it used to be and that this has improved morale among his employees.
According to LEDtronics, T8 LED tubes are ideal for those who require "above-average" lighting but want to utilise energy efficient bulbs.
