One of the world's leading manufacturers of architectural fixtures and fittings has launched its foray into the LED market.
Klik Systems, a name long synonymous with the international lighting market, has released an "ingenious" snap in LED designed for handrails of any size, focusing light downwards on stairs and paths.
The LEDPOD features an asymmetrical optical system, designed using Photopia software, totally eliminating glare. It also has a specially manufactured heat sink that prevents the product from getting above 35 degrees.
Paul Roos, Klik's company design manager, said: "It was important to me to have the luminaire located out of view under the handrail, effectively lighting the stairs/walkway with good vertical illumination."
He added that, because of its hidden design, there is little chance of the cabling becoming twisted, resulting in low-risk of damage.
It is the latest in a number of new LED products hitting the market, after both Cree and Philips announced the release of new bulbs.
